With Autumn / Winter steadily approaching, transitioning into your new season’s wardrobe smoothly requires masterful layering techniques. As the weather is pretty much unpredictable these days (hence why I am still wearing sunglasses), layering up allows you to add and remove layers as required – we all know those mornings when it is grey outside and you put on your woolliest jumper to only get to lunch time and be sweating away at your desk, wishing that you had worn that damn cami top instead, which is what happens to me most days of the week at the moment to be honest!
My key pieces for layering are thin jumpers, everyday jackets – especially in Khaki for AW14 – and faux fur, whether that be hats, snoods or an amazing scarf such as the Helen Moore Multi Vixen Scarf I am styling here, which has been seen on the likes of the gorgeous and quirky Fearne Cotton and even includes an amazing range of faux fur shopper bags – fantasy fur heaven! Also, a personal tip for transitional trousers is to go for a leather (or faux leather) jogger, so that should you become warmer you can always roll them up slightly and they also allow you a bit of room to breathe (you gotta love some comfy ‘fat’ pants for the darker days of the year).
If you have been reading my blog for a while now you will also know that I am a self confessed trainer addict, so it is like Christmas come early that I finally have a pair of Nike Air Force 1’s, I mean just look at how beautiful and conventional they are….a gleaming white leather trainer with a chunky sole that is also super comfy. I have seen quite a few fashionistas’ styling up Air Force 1 Lo’s recently on Pinterest and the likes (you can follow me on Pinterest here) and I am so glad that I gave them a try, I just can’t decide now whether these or my new Adidas Stan Smiths (also from Footlocker) are my new footwear favourites?!
So, for all of you trainer fans out there I have linked my Stan Smith and Air Force 1 edit below, so just click on your favourites!
