HOW I REALLY FEEL ABOUT THE 70S TREND

ACCESSORIZE FAUX FUR BAG

How to wear the 70s trend if it’s not really your thing….

I have to admit that the Seventies trend is not really my thing. I mean, I don’t see myself as a ‘cool’ girl and I always struggle to find the perfect pair of flares to fit me. Also, being 5ft9 I feel out of place wearing 7 inch platforms in a crowd, plus the fact I wouldn’t be able to walk in them anyway! But there is something about the effortless denim and suede 70s looks that I spy over on Pinterest, which make me want to tailor the Seventies trend to my style. So finally, I have found a 70’s look that I feel comfortable wearing and I am excited to share this with you today….

I found this amazing pair of Replay wide leg high waisted jeans on accentclothing.com for a pocket saving £37.50 instead of £125: RESULT! I think the light blue denim wash works really well for the 70s trend and the colour really compliments yet contrasts my favourite tan suede jacket (which is sold out but I have linked a similar one here). To add some accessories to my look I wore a signature 70s neckerchief / bandana scarf and my new faux fur bag (similar here), which I am obsessed with – even if two people asked if I was carrying a cat under my arm in the same day (no jokes)!

How do you feel about the 70s trend? Do let me know in the comments, thanks for reading and I will be back on Thursday afternoon with another outfit post. As usual, I have linked what I am wearing and items to re-create this look below.

Omg I totally feel you on this one! I’m 5ft9 too and platforms, however cool they are, just aren’t my friend. I absolutely love your suede jacket though, I think I might be in love!

Thanks Hannah πŸ™‚ I wasn’t sure whether or not I looked silly at first, but sometimes, you just have to go with it! xx

You pull off the look so well! I feel like I’m way too short to wear the 70’s flared jeans trend, because they make my legs look so stumpy, and I can’t walk in heels either! πŸ™ˆ

Thank you Emily πŸ™‚ If you are worried about looking shorter with flares I would say go for a fitted pair (rather than wide leg) that will elongate your legs xx
