Favourite Outfits from 2015 & Blogging Reflections On Lurchhoundloves

*This is in no way, shape, or form a pity party post. Just merely my musings, current thoughts and desire to satisfy (YOU) my readers. Whilst having a general heart to heart with you all and sharing my blogging reflections on 2015 and what 2016 has in store.*

I guess you can think of this post as my musings on what the past 12 months have brought my way in terms of blogging, and how my style (writing, styling, editing) has developed along the way with it.

When I first decided to do a favourite outfits round up for 2015, I was surprised at how little outfit posts from the last year I actually liked and also the lack of them (which is why you are now reading a post on my blogging reflections instead). For some-one who spends every weekend and the majority of their free time outside work obsessing over the quality of my blog post and imagery, I began to feel as if I have been a bit of a blogging dissapointed in 2015. Then the Debbie Downer began.

Am I Good Enough To Inspire (YOU) My Readers?

For myself, feedback and self critique is what spurs me on to improve my content. To develop Lurchhoundloves. And basically to give me a kick in the bum when it comes to being creative.

As you can probably tell from the outfits above, the imagery differs between each post. From the pose to the composition and editing. I don’t know whether I prefer the less contrasted slighly ‘misty’ look or the brighther and lighter approach. So, I guess I am looking for any feedback you (my loyal readers) have and what you prefer to see and read?

I am not looking for a pity party or affirmation that people think what I do is ‘crap’ or ‘great’, but more notes for self improvement. That will enable me to create content you will all love in 2016.

Perfecting Video Content In 2016

You may have noticed that I have gotten into Youtube over the past few months, and if you haven’t already you can connect with me on my channel by clicking here.

The same goes there too. I am a novice when it comes to video editing and it is also something I want to improve (which hopefully will when I invest in a MAC and Editing Software *any suggestions?*).

If I only posted a video I was 100% happy with, I probably wouldn’t upload any at all! But, with that being said, I have always been a perfectionist and lacking in self-confidence and with everything else practice makes perfect. So hopefully this will come with time, as I get more of a feel as to what works best.

What Does 2016 Have In Store For Lurchhoundloves?

I don’t know exactly what 2016 has in store for Lurchhoundloves, but I hope to be inspiring you all. Whether in the form of outfits, videos, tips or beauty posts (it would also be great to know what you like to see and read the most too?).

I may begin posting 1-2 posts a week and one video, trying to focus a bit more on quality over quantity where I can. As for being a bit more heavily involved in a personal style aspect of fashion blogging, I would love to post more of my daily outfits over on my Instagram profile too; I must remember to set my alarm earlier before work and hope for good mirror lighting though #bloggerproblems!

SEO AND BLOGGING ADVICE IN 2016

I would also like to do more SEO Tips posts. As this is actually what I do for my day job (if you didn’t know), working in content and outreach for an SEO agency.

I like to feel as if I can give something back to you lovely lot, so I hope the previous attempts have been somewhat helpful. If I had the time I would love to do at least one post a month…but I don’t want to promise anything I can’t stick with right now due to a full time job, house, dog and wedding / honeymoon on the way in 2016!

Sharing My Style Tips

My favourite posts over the past year have actually been my style tips posts like this one. And it is something I will hope to offer you with each outfit, rather than just photos of what I am wearing.

I also aspire for my personality to shine through my writing a bit more. Which is why I love Youtube so much I guess, as I find it easier to express a sense of who I am via video and talking to you, rather than a written page. So I hope you can get to know me a bit more via my Youtube in 2016 and the girl behind the camera lens.

What Would You Like To See From Lurchhhoundloves in 2016?

Most importantly, what would YOU, my lovely readers, like to see from me in 2016? I wouldn’t be running my blog if it wasn’t for your support, so I can’t thank you all enough.

Half of it again wouldn’t be possible without my ‘Instagram Husband’, (this is so funny, yet so true btw) who is there for me to annoy to take my outfit shots. And what a bloody good job he does too, so a big thank you to James. My hat goes off to you for your constant support, words of confidence and putting up with me (he’s a good egg).

And lastly, thank you for perseveering through this text heavy ramble of my thoughts and for sticking with me on my digital journey. If you have anything you would like to see, or prefer, then do let me know in the comments below. Here is to another great online adventure in 2016!

If if it is not up yet, I will also have a new, more interactive blog design too, which will hopefully help you to find what you are looking for easier on Lurchhoundloves. Since migrating to WordPress I haven’t yet been able to find a template I am fully happy with. So, I am having one designed and coded specifically for my little blog and I couldn’t be more excited for Lurchhoundloves 2.0!

I’d love to see some posts on understanding SEO, that whole thing is a mine field for me so I’d find posts covering that to be really helpful. For outfit posts, to be honest I don’t have a specific ‘style’ or compositon of shots that I prefer or like the best, I actually don’t mind each outfit post being shot slightly differently- I think it adds some character and stops outfit pots from becoming to similar and repetitive! To each their own though.
