How To Dress Parisian Chic
Believe it or not, I still haven’t read ‘How To Be Parisian‘, even though it is up there on my reading list. I tend to have a habit of buying books with all the intentions in the world to flick through their pages, but never seem to have the time: Does anyone else do this? Or is it just me?
Even though I haven’t read the book, I still know a thing or two about how to dress Parisian chic (I think) and it is an effortlessly stylish look I wish I could obtain on a daily basis. Parisian girls always look classic, chic, expensive and styled. Whilst at the same time it looks like they have thrown their outfit together with ease, don’t overthink their looks and they just look bloody great in anything they wear *sigh*
Taking it to the basics, I thought I would share my Parisian chic style rules with you. So that you can also start dressing Parisian chic and releasing your inner cool girl into your wardrobe.

To create a Parisian capsule wardrobe it really is about investing in good basics. By investing I don’t mean that everything needs to be designer, but you want to select garments that have a good composition with textures and materials that don’t look or feel cheap.
I’m sharing my six must have items to begin building your Parisian Chic outfits. These are all wardrobe staples that you can mix and match with minimal styles in your wardrobe. For each category I have selected a mix of high street and high end options to suit all budgets, just click on your favourites to be taken to the retailers page to shop the item…

PARISIAN CHIC BEAUTY RULES
It is not only your wardrobe that can adopt Parisian chic, but also your beauty drawer too. Again, no one knows how to do effortless beauty with a subtle hint of glam than Parisian girls. Think, fuss free hair that looks minimal effort from down and straight styles to bed hair or a simple chignon. And perfect skin, with a subtle glow and cat flick of eyeliner with a red lip or barely there nudes.
The key here again is to keep things simple. If there is one thing that you can adopt from Parisian women in your wardrobe and beauty stash is that: “less is more”. Try to invest in staple beauty products which will go the extra mile and can be taken from day to evening looks.
BEAUTY TIP: What I always think about when buying beauty products that seem expensive is that cost per use they are worth it. A good bronzer can last me a couple of years!

I recently went to give my blonde balayage a re-fresh with Regis in Wilmslow, which is a timeless French technique meaning to sweep or to paint. For me, it is a fuss free colour that epitomises Parisian Chic, it also means that you don’t get dreaded root re-growth as you do from an all over colour.
Regis invited me for a colour update as they have now introduced L’Oreal’s Smartbond treatment into it’s salons which protects your hair whilst colouring. Plus, it only costs an additional £5 when getting your hair coloured o3 £15 as a stand alone treatment in salons – visit www.regissalons.co.uk for more information.
